Medication: As mental health professionals we do not start with medication, and prefer not to use medication if we can solve it another way. This forces us to be more creative in directing a solution. Our mission is to seek lifestyle changes, motivational enhancement and cognitive restructuring, to resolve issues without resorting to medication. When medication is necessary, it usually only controls a problem and seldom solves it alone, without therapy.
What We Expect of You: In exchange for our commitment to seeing that your treatment is successful, we expect that you:
- Will show up on time for your appointment and not be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.
- Will implement the changes that we agree on, into your life. This will ensure the value of your psychotherapy.
- May bring notes or other persons (with permission) to facilitate our conversations.
- Will be prepared to pay your deductible and copay at the time of service. Like all psychotherapy practices we have a cancellation policy. If you must cancel we appreciate as much notice as you can provide. We cannot charge your insurance company for missed appointments. If you cancel with less than 36 hours notice, or miss an appointment entirely, you will be charged $50, with the option of re-scheduling.
We are intent on helping you grow through the difficulties you have encountered in life...
There are times in all of our lives when the most direct way to solve our difficulties is to seek some direction that will enable us to control our own destiny.
"Defeat may test you; it need not stop you. If at first you don't succeed, try another way. For every obstacle there is a solution. Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. The greatest mistake is giving up." - Smallwood and Kilborn
